who are you?

i go by a lot of names. my display name has been vinyl for a while now, but in the past i was known as versus or VS. my true name is dave or dove. i use he/she/ae pronouns.
i consider myself a lover and an artist of all sorts. hmm what else... i like video games, usually platformers & puzzles or anything story-driven. i like pastels and sunflowers. i'm a fan of all kinds of music. my favorite number is probably 1127 or 14. i'm a far leftist. i'm bisexual & polya, i'm plural. my favorite pokemon is clefairy / clefable, but furret is a strong second. i fucking LOVE kirby. and, as you'll find out, i'm nonbinary.

so what is this place, then?

this site is a kinda personal project, to express myself and things that mean something to me. like a digital scrapbook.

my gender & sense of self was always kinda fuzzy, thanks to dissociation. so i started DOVESCRATCH 1.0 over on weebly in early 2021 or so, with the intention of exploring that mess. before that, i tried for years to use other sites to discover myself & even connect with other people going through the same, but it didn't go very well. then i felt like i had all outlets that i once used to explore my feelings were stripped away, or i wasn't "allowed" to explore that, maybe. and well, when nowhere is safe for you, you make your own space. this is my way of allowing myself to be nonbinary, and neurodivergent, and weird and cringy and a mess, as i am.
who knows, maybe i'm wrong about all this. but it's more about the journey i think.
anyway i moved over to neocities later in 2021 in order to have more artistic freedom. i've always had an affinity for the early internet so it just made sense.

this site will expand with time. any resemblance dove may bare to dave strider is intentional* & this is all just for fun.
